It's been a busy week filled with research, planning, and crucial decision-making. I can't wait to record the journey of my project so far.
To gain more feedback on my program, I'm catching up this week. I spent the first half of the week refining the ideas I presented last week, including completing the first version of my PRELIMINARY RESEARCH, as well as the initial ideas for my Plans A, B, and C. I've also been working on the first half of my plan. On Thursday, I couldn't wait to show Gabi what I'd achieved so far and discuss with her the realisability of my ideas. My idea is to design traditional bird stickers with a Maori cultural twist inspired by Maori totems. But Gabi's first suggestion enlightened me that instead of choosing a culture unfamiliar to me, I should design in Chinese culture, which is my specialty. This would prevent me from spending too much time on cultural background research. I had neglected time constraints in this regard, and there was still a lot of road ahead.

She also asked me about the choice of materials. She hoped I could find more suitable materials, such as environmentally friendly materials. I can't believe I forgot about this last week. So one of the most crucial tasks this week was to research and choose the best materials.
Also, in our communication, we both agreed that it might be difficult to stand out in the market by changing the sticker design. Everyone has their own aesthetic, and it is difficult to satisfy all consumers with sticker designs. So why not give consumers the option to customize it themselves? Therefore, at the end of the conversation, I decided to make an additional website that allows the user to customize the pattern it wants as a sticker. This would prevent birds from hitting the glass.
After Thursday, I put a lot of time into this project. I revisited my project based on what Gabi inspired me to do. I have to say it was very discouraging at first, but I still gained motivation to present better work. After two days of dedicated work, I finally finished my Miro board at this stage, and I re-selected the material. This time I chose PLA, which is a biodegradable, cost-effective material that supports high-fidelity sticker printing. I also decided to design a set of anti-reflective glass stickers inspired by the Chinese Zodiac, which will be used as a showcase on my website. I'm also thinking of adding biomimetic patterns to make the stickers blend in better with the scenery outside the window.

It's Saturday night, and I'm looking back at the week and recording the ups and downs of my moods this week. Gabi's feedback this week has deepened my focus on sustainability, and I will continue to focus on this for the rest of my journey. I can't wait to see how my project evolves in the coming weeks.
