Communication & Reflection

At first, I was very interested in architecture, but I enjoyed design more by learning DVC and Design in high school. And I hope to take design as my future career.

In design, I am most interested in graphic and interaction design. Now I have not decided the direction, and I want to determine it through the study in the university.

I think I am a creative and productive person.

One example is my font creation project. I created the typography through paper cuts and projected shadows. Inspired by the sun, I accidentally saw my shade was noticeable, so I wanted to try it as a font.

Then, I made some poster by using the font that I design.

I enjoy doing creative work very much, and now I have a part-time job in a tutoring agency as a math teacher. But by chance my manager discovered my design talent, so now I make posters for them. After I experienced work that was related to design, I found that I enjoyed it. I love the process of turning my ideas and my clients' ideas into tangible pieces. This valuable internship experience has made me make continuous progress, become more and more confident.

It is my 10 assumptions that I have about my future vision:

• fashion design

• landscape design

These are the top 3 most important assumptions for me:

• Illustration design

• Interior design

Graphic design is the art of mixing creativity with the passion for giving rise to a product (Ganguly, n.d.), which is the career I'm most interested in at the moment. Then, illustration design and Interior design, which I am also interested in. These three designers must have a good understanding of colour, even the change of light and shade.

Therefore, to achieve my goals, I have something that I want to improve in this situation and to explore the future:

First of all, for graphic design, I will continue to complete my internship and devote myself more to the design work. In addition, I will study at university to see if I can make some progress next year.

Secondly, I will learn drawing to improve my drawing skills, especially electronic drawing for illustrative design.

Finally, I will learn more relevant knowledge for interior design, which is entirely different from the other two fields, so I need to learn more. I plan to talk with my friends who study this major and decide after knowing more about it.
