When I moved from my hometown to live in New Zealand, I found that the climate of New Zealand was quite dry for me, especially in winter. So lip balm became something I used every day.
This is the one I use a lot. I took some pictures as material.

I used a ruler with a circle as a tool because it was a good way to measure the diameter of my lipstick. After I got the length of the lip balm, I started making model in Sketchup.

First of all, I set the position of the top and bottom, as well as the middle part according to the measurement. This is my experience from the model last time. First, draw the height of the main part, so as to avoid errors in the shape.

This is the appearance of the Lip Balm Model, which is done on a scale of 1 to 1.

And then following the measurements, I started to do the details of the interior,

Lastly, I started making a specification drawing on Adobe Illustrator.

It is the final specification drawing, which is the third angle projection of the object including some key dimensions.

I made a 3D render for my model (The plastic casing). After rendering, I found that the gap between the cover and the bottom should be larger. For the next model, I will measure each width more carefully before making the model so that I can restore the object better.
